Dynamic IP Monitor 2.5.9
inNetwork & Internet::Other
Most internet service providers assign dynamic IP addresses to their customers. This means the internet address of your computer may change every time you connect, or on certain intervals. This presents a problem if you want to access your computer. Dynamic IP Monitor checks for changes in external and internal IP addresses every 2 minutes and when a change is detected can perform the following updates:
<p>
<ul>
<li>* Upload TXT file containing IP addresses to FTP server</li>
<li>* Send E-mail containing IP addresses through your SMTP server (supports AUTH LOGIN authentication for servers that require it- check your service provider's specifications for sending outgoing mail from external clients and test it if you plan to use this feature)</li>
<li>* Update DynDNS Dynamic DNS Hostname Entry</li>
<li>* Update by URL string (web query)</li>
</ul>
<p>
Suggested uses:
<br>
<ul>
<li>* Stay informed of your computer's internal and external (LAN & WAN) IP addresses, for router changes, remote administration, or remote desktop</li>
<li>* Set up your software or web page to parse the FTP-uploaded IP_Hostname.txt file to obtain the address of your server [Datenbank, web, mail, ftp, etc...]</li>
</ul>
<p>
Note: Dynamic IP Monitor connects to a page on the web to obtain external IP address, you may have to allow this (and the update methods you will use) in your firewall.
